NRECA Statement on the President’s FY 2018 Budget Proposal

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) CEO Jim Matheson today issued the following statement about President Trump’s FY 2018 budget proposal:

“This is only the first step in the budget process that will include the input of America’s electric cooperatives. We will continue to work with the White House and Congress to reduce the burden of federal regulations while promoting research, investment and valuable ongoing partnerships between electric co-ops and government agencies,” said Matheson.

“As this administration tackles the difficult work of assessing and shaping its priorities for the budget, we look forward to providing a window into the communities we serve. Infrastructure investments, energy reliability, and innovative partnerships are important areas of the budget to our members. Our engagement on priorities for the Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Agency for International Development will be extremely important to produce outcomes our members want to see.” Originally posted by www.nreca.com

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
