Hiring Process
Our recruiters will be alerted after you submit an application. Please be patient; we get hundreds of applications and screen them closely to find the best fit. You can expect an email or phone call from us to let you know your hiring status. For successful applicants, our interview process includes a prescreen interview followed by an on-site interview at the location. We will show you what it’s like to work for our company and answer questions you may have.
Employment Testing
To identify and assess a candidate’s abilities and skills, some of our positions utilize employment testing as part of the hiring process. These tests have been shown to be job-related, fair, objective, and are used to help find the best fit for our positions. Employment tests are given on-site and may take several minutes or hours to complete. Don’t sweat; we will provide instructions and a testing location that is free from distractions. Meet Our Recruiters

Lisa is our transmission recruitment guru! In 2015 she helped us fill more than 20 positions. She also specializes in internships, specifically line and substation interns, and is passionate about helping students find opportunities with Sunflower. Her skills are top-notch, too; in fact, she recently earned SHRM-SCP credentials.
Like a true Kansas native, Lisa’s friendly and caring personality will make you feel right at home. She will likely remember your face and your story, and is always going the extra mile to help others out. She loves life with her husband and three children, as well as her fur family!

Megan’s dynamic personality and creative side are great attributes for her role in promoting and overseeing all of Sunflower’s benefits programs. She is a self-starter with a thirst for knowledge and a love of technology, which enable her to search for new and better ways to provide benefits and wellness initiatives for our employees. That same thirst for knowledge led her to obtain her master’s degree and her SHRM-SCP. Megan’s organizational skills ensure that candidates have everything they need when visiting our corporate office.
The home designers featured in the television programs Flip or Flop and Property Brothers have nothing on Megan. The before and after pictures of the recent home renovation in which she took part are amazing! That same creativity and hard work go into everything Megan does at Sunflower.

Lana warms any room with her bubbly personality and always goes the extra mile to make our interview candidates feel comfortable. Lana and her husband, Phillip, have three children who are the lights of their lives. Lana’s family enjoys spending time with each other and participating in all that Garden City has to offer.
Career fairs are one of her favorite events, especially when she gets to visit her alma mater, K-State – Go Cats! Lana enjoys working with a diverse employee population, including employees from the office environment, the coal-based power plant, the natural gas-fired power stations, and everyone in between. She frequents all of the power stations, covering ground across Kansas in her travels.
